Dear family,
My name is Andrea Schwarz and I was born in Frankfurt, Germany on February 2nd 1982. My mother is a housewife and my father is a carpenter. My parents have three children: me, the youngest child in the family, my sister Anna is 28 years old and my brother Nick is 30 years old.
I think I had a great childhood and one of the most important things for me working with children is that I haven’t forgotten how I felt like when I was a child.
My home town is small and quiet but for me is the best and favorite. I miss it when I’m far away and it’s a great pleasure for me to come back after trips to other places. On the other hand, I am a real fidget and I like traveling very much. In my childhood I dreamt of a world tour.
Later other priorities happened. My brother got married early. Now he has two sons already. My older nephew, Alexander, was born when I was 16. As soon as I took him in my arms I realized: the biggest happiness in the world are children. That’s why after school I entered the Pedagogical Institute and graduated from it successfully in 2005 having the profession of a teacher of English, German and German Literature.
All that time working at school as a teacher of English, and also at families as a nanny and a tutor, assured me that I hadn’t made a mistake in choosing my mission and upbringing of children was that very thing I’d like to engage in. I like to give my knowledge to children, to teach them to make difference between good and bad, not only to teach them new things but also to bring up a child as a person.
I don’t have my own children yet . My family consists of parents, brother, sister and two wonderful beloved nephews. I love them very much and I am not shy in expressing my love to them. I enjoy and appreciate every moment of my life, I am an optimist, I like being outdoors, walking and camping. At home I also can’t sit without doing something. I can knit and sew. My nephews admire the sweaters I knit for them-new ones every winter. As for my parents, they like very much the evenings when I arrange “mini concerts” ( I completed the music school and I play piano). They have favourite melodies and I play them with great pleasure. By the way, there is a cat named Mars in our family. It is a music lover and it has its own favourite melodies too!
I like very much to spend my time with friends. Often we all together go to the country, picnic, play voley-ball, play guitar. Such enjoyable week-ends stick in our memory for a long time! My friends consider me a cheerful, frank and kind person. Sometimes they call me a fidget because I like to be challenged and to explore new things. For example, I learned the Greek language, now I take Spanish courses and also I am going to get a driver’s license.
Therefore, my participation in this program gives me a possibility to achieve two goals. The first one – I’d be able to enrich the store of knowledge and experience. The second one – the main one – I’d like very much to be useful, to give my love to children and to make new friends. I hope my dreams will come true!
Sincerely yours,
Andrea Schwartz

My name is Maggie (as my friends call me), presently working for a Chinese family who has a 12 year old boy. I have been working for more than 7 years now as nanny/caregiver here in Hong Kong and I had a great deal of experience taking care of toddler as well as grown ups. I’m a child at heart, so, I’m great with the children but I know when to be an adult and be in charge. So, I engage with them rather than just supervising. I am well organized, loving, trustworthy and responsible person.
I’m also good in doing the household chores. More importantly, I do not have any police record and I live a healthy lifestyle.
I want to work in Canada as nanny/caregiver. If you give me a chance, I will do my best to show my ability to make you satisfied. I’m looking forward to hear from you soon.
Dear Family,
My name is Susanti Andriyani. I was born in Jakarta, the capital city of Indonesia but I grew up in many places around because my parents moved a lot. Therefore, I don’t have any big problem adjusting to new surroundings or new neighbourhood. I am the eldest, my brother is 25 years old and still in college. I have two sisters, the first one is 18 years old and also going to college. My youngest sister is 15 years old and still studying at the last year of Junior high school. My parents had a good car rental business but then they caught problems and now both of them are farmers in Cirebon, West Java, Indonesia.
Since I was a child, I learnt to be an independent person. I was away from my parents when I studied Pulp and Paper Manufacture Academy, for a Diploma Program. I dreamt to be a manager in a well established pulp and paper company. I supported my college fee by teaching English lessons to local elementary and junior high schools. I was the youngest part time teacher there and students were very closed to me. During school holidays, most of them came to my dormitory and read my English storybooks, listen to English music or just talking their problems and wishes in English with me. But then my parents lost their business and I was faced with a condition to support my family. Then I started to work abroad because the salary is more than what I could get in Indonesia.
Took a long leave from my college, I went to Singapore and worked as a housekeeper for two years. My employer was a Chinese and her husband was an Indian. I did regular housecleaning, cooking, shopping and wash the car. Once a year, my employer’s mother in law, 80 years old, and my employer’s nephew, 7 years old boy, came and stayed for 2 months. When they came, I need to take grandma to hospital since she had heart problems and need regular medical check up.
When I finished my contract, I went to college and finished my diploma then went to Hongkong. My job was a nanny for a 5 years old boy. My employer in Hongkong had two workers, me and a phillipino who looked after their aging parents. When I just worked for 2 months, my employer lost her job and with one income coming, she said she couldn’t afford two workers. And since she’s going to look after the child, she sent me back home to Indonesia.
Came back from Hongkong, I started to open my own cellphone business meanwhile working at a local NGO. After a year I thought my income won’t take me anywhere, so I decided to work abroad again.
I went to Taiwan and got the job as an elderly caregiver. My patient had a heart problem and need to went on hemodialysis three times a week. Upon my contract renewal and back to work for 2 months, my patient died.
Now, I am looking forward to work in Canada. Hopefully there is good employer who can appreciate my skills and experience and willing to support me to be able to work in Canada. If you are interested or need further information about me, please contact me at xanty_crb@yahoo.com
Sincerely yours,
Susanti Andriyani

Dear Family,
My name is Mary Ann Rodriguez, 35 years old, Filipina and presently working in Saudi Arabia as a domestic helper. I came from a poor family in a province of Pangasinan, farming as our main sourse of our livelihood. As a child we used to worked in our small farm together with my parents and three brothers and a sister, we’re five in the family, instead of paying someone.
Our parents brought us up, they sent us to school, and they gave us everything of their best. That was all from their hardwork in farming. Fortunately, all of us were able to get a course in college and finished it whereas I took Computer Secretarial and Business Management.
I am already married and a mother of two, my eldest Sheena, 14 is now on her second year and high school and my youngest, Mark, 12 on his last grade in elementary. I know their experiences as children was very far compared to mine. I’m more determined to work because of them. I tried to work in the Philippines as a saleslady, secretary, trimmer, telephone operator, but all of these were not enough to support my family. So I decided to try my fate abroad.
The hardest thing in my life is to be away from my family especially with my two children. But I believe that this is the best way so I can give them the best future. I worked in a chinese family with two children, 9 and 13. I coped with them up easily on my first two weeks. I learned to be more patient, hardworking, creative, and cheerful. I helped them with their homeworks, prepared healthy foods for them and played with them with their favorite games. I loved them like my own!
My experience here in Riyadh is more challenging, staying here for almost seven years is a great experience for learning. I’m more matured and more determined.
So I am more confident to find a new employer in Canada to gain more experience and to share also my knowledge. It would be my pleasure to work in a canadian family, to give my service to the best that I can.
Thank you and more power.
Truly yours,
Anne
